About the event

This 8-week course will provide participants with a basic understanding of the importance of living soil to their organisation, business, or growing project. It will give an introduction of the benefits of well made compost and it's contribution to soil health and functionality. During the course we will learn about soil and compost from a biological perspective and how we can use a microscope to sample and assess it. We will also look at effective composting methods, with participants finishing with a plan for composting within their own context.

During the course you will learn:

  • The importance of soil organic matter and soil life to the health of plants, enterprise, health and planet

  • How to sample and assess soil and compost with a microscope
